If you don’t have a driveway for a home charger consider if a local charger could do the job, maybe at a car park. You may not need to charge every day, if you drive to work do they have chargers? What about your nearest supermarket or shopping area?

Google maps

You can use Google maps to find a local charge point.

Neighbour sharing

Neighbours may be prepared to share the use of their charger, there are Apps to manage this situation.

If you want a charger on your street, contact your local council about the On-street residential chargepoints scheme. Portsmouth and Brighton present excellent examples.

The Government has launched a Smart Street Charging scheme where On Street chargers can be charged in a similar way as a Home electricity tariff, such as Octopus Agile, to get the best overnight rates.
