The ‘Media’ launch of GRIDSERVE’s first Electric Forecourt – The first of at least 100.

Local EV driver visits GRIDSERVE’s first Electric Forecourt and sees the future

GRIDSERVE has developed its first site specifically for charging Electric cars, located in Essex. It has 24 covered bays of chargers plus Type 2 and Tesla Superchargers outside. Plus shops, including Costa Coffee, Post Office, and a lounge.

Cost of charging

24p/KWh is really excellent – and it’s the same whichever capacity charger you use.

On hearing the price, see video, Andy Wright commented

This means a typical charge for an average electric vehicle – from 20% charged to 80% – would cost under £10.

Using Exclusively Renewable Energy

It will use clean energy sourced from one of the UK’s first subsidy-free solar farms at Clayhill in Bedfordshire, and a battery capable of storing enough energy to drive 24,000 miles.
