The CHAdeMO plug type is massive in China and Japan, consequently Nissan has used them until very recently. In Europe including the UK Type 2 was the popular standard, but this is being superseded by CCS, which incorporates Type 2. Tesla has it’s own type. North America has their own types of Plug. It’s essential to know which socket you need in order to use the plug(s) you have.

For Home charging you will need to install a charger with the appropriate socket, meanwhile you can use a residential 13 Amp socket, although this will result in very slow charging.

Currently only CHAdeMO supports Bidirectional charging, also know as V2G (Vehicle to Grid), however CCS is expected to support it in the near future.
